PopCom is now revolutionizing the business model of NFTs by partnering with local artists to dispense in real-life “IRL” artwork. PopCom has always been on the cutting edge of automated retail by focusing strategically on local products. Read more about PopShop Local here. In our mind, there are no better products than local art. Alongside the advancement of technology over the past couple of years, we have seen artists maximize their ability to display, market, and sell their art. Strong communities have supercharged this revolution with a thirst to support artists and their creations.

At PopCom, we believe community provides strength and know first-hand how strong communities can shape the future of technology — realizing and understanding our curiosity about Web 3 and thinking through how these technologies can be applied to our smart vending machines. We quickly identified a missing link inside the NFT space. The instant delivery of both the Physical and Digital NFTs simultaneously. We believe NFT drops create an exceptional opportunity for artists to connect with their audience and understand that real-life experiences drive higher connections. Typically, if real artwork is attached to NFTs, there is a delay in when consumers can receive their Physical artwork. Our smart vending machines dispense physical artwork alongside the NFTs using QR code technology. For artists, we are bringing the element of sneaker drops to smart vending machines, enabling artists to capture data and immediately connect with their audience wherever there is a PopShop location.

We have partnered with KNXTTI and Disrupt.Art for our inaugural launch. 10 limited edition NFTs have been produced for NFT.NYC. The collection is original art by Knxxti entitled “The NYers (New Yorkers),” showcasing and highlighting famous people from New York City. On June 20th — 24th, the NFTs will go on sale during the week of NFT.NYC. The sale will happen at PopCom’s automated retail machine (PopShop) at the Hilton in Midtown located at 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY, 10019. This will be an extraordinary historical moment, culminating in what we believe to be the next step in blurring the lines between the physical and digital art worlds. With automated vending, artists can now sell peer to peer without using galleries or auctions and still deliver their art simultaneously. PopCom is now proud to partner with artists by enabling direct-to-consumer web 3 solutions.

Artist Bio

KNXTTI, professionally known as Knxtti (pronounced Nah Tee), is a multidisciplinary artist whose art is focused on the contradictions of the human experience, the transition of man from physical to digital beings, and social commentary using pop culture icons as references.

He is most known for his paintings of Skeletons, which represent a Skinless Humanity. “I rip the skin off so I can focus on problems we all have. I don’t want my art limited to being called BLACK ART. I speak to humans as a whole.”

In February 2021, Knxtti started selling NFTs (non-fungible tokens)as a way to verify ownership of his art on the Ethereum blockchain. His success with his own projects led him to become a dealer for other artists who struggled to be seen. Artists such as Kid EIght and Deecosey all credit Knxtti as the catalyst for their success in the digital space.

Knxtti is currently a digital nomad, moving from city to city selling art via his laptop and leaving evidence of his existence scattered across the globe. He has never presented in a gallery or been represented by one but has continually sold out his collection and has a rabid following who snatch up anything he produces.

KNXTTI is the future of art.
